Open in App
Solution

Ovary:

  1. The primary sex organs in females are a pair of ovaries, which produce ova or egg.
  2. The ovarian follicle is called the basic unit of the female reproductive system.

Egg after it leaves the ovary:

  1. The ovarian follicle wall ruptures at the ovarian surface releasing the egg from ovary.
  2. Fimbriae, which are finger-like structures, whisk the egg into the adjoining fallopian tube.
  3. The egg is driven down the fallopian tube by contractions in the fallopian tube walls.
