1. The site where transcription of RNA from the first DNA nucleotide takes place is known as the transcription start site(TSS).
2. It is quite not possible to determine the exact position of TSS using bioinformatics.
3. But by using experimental methods it can be determined that is at the 5ʹ end of a gene, which is referred to as the gene start.
