Homospory:

  1. Homospory is when identical, same-sized spores are produced.
  2. These morphologically identical spores grow into bisexual gametophytes.
  3. All spores would be of the same type in the homosporous condition.
  4. In the heterosporous condition, two different types of spores are produced wherein one would form the male and the other the female gametophyte.

Bryophytes:

  1. Bryophytes are homosporous.
  2. The antheridium and the archegonia are present on the same plant.
  3. The sperm and eggs are produced by the same gametophyte.
