Heart failure:

  1. Heart failure is the condition caused when the heart muscles fail to efficiently pump blood.
  2. A major reason for heart failure is a coronary heart disease which causes the blood arteries to narrow down.
  3. Cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, high blood pressure, and diabetes are a few other causes of heart failure.
  4. Symptoms of heart failure include fatigue, loss of appetite, persistent coughing, shortness of breath, and sudden weight gain.
  5. A person with a weakened heart has persistent coughs as heart failure causes fluid to fill up in the lungs and results in shortness of breath.
  6. Congestion of the lungs results in a continuous dry cough.
