Question

Will frost kill seeds?

Open in App
Solution

No, the frost can not kill the seeds.

  1. The seeds undergo seed dormancy, when they do not find favourable conditions.
  2. However, long exposures to frost can damage the seed coat and curb the seed's growth.
  3. But, frost that occurs in the night time and early morning and melts away during the day does not harm the seed.
