The correct option is A Both 1 and 2 are true and 2 is the correct explanation of 1
Density of liquid at temperature T+ΔT is given by ρT+ΔT=ρT1+γΔT.
Hence the density of liquid decreases with increase in temperature.
The mass of the liquid displaced has to be equal to the mass of the block. But the density of liquid has decreased. Thus the volume of liquid displaced has to increase. Hence the volume of block immersed in liquid increases.
