(1) An atmosphere is a set of layers of gases present in our surrounding or other material body. These bodies are held in place by the gravity of that body. Atmospheric pressure is defined as force per unit area that is exterted by the weight of the air above that surface.

At sea level, atmospheric pressure is 760mmHg or 105Nm2=105Pa

(2) State of motion describes speed with direction. When object changes its position with respect to time then it is the state of motion of that object.

(3) Factors on which the effect of force depends:

(a) Amount of applied force

(b) The direction in which the force is applied.
