Let mass of hot water m1=5kg ,
mass of cold water m2=1kg ,
temperature of hot water =t1=65oC ,
temperature of cold water =t2=5oC ,
and t= final temperature of both waters after thermal equilibrium
According to the principle of mixture ,
Heat lost = Heat gained
m1c(tt1)=m2c(t2t)
5c(65t)=1c(t5)
or 3255t=t5
or t=330/6=55oC
