1-Methylcyclohexene on treatment with HCl gives 1-Chloro-1-methylcyclohexane. A molecule of HCl is added to carbon carbon double bond.
Note:
The addition of hydrogen halides to unsymmetrical alkene takes place according to Markovonikov's rule.
