The correct option is A 0.5 Joule
The given graph is of pressure against reciprocal of volume. From this, the volume at points A and B is calculated as 1 m3 and 0.67 m3 respectively.
A graph of pressure versus volume is plotted. The work done is given by the area ABCDE.
Work done = area ABCDE = area of triangle ABC + area of rectangle ACDE =12×(0.33 m3×1 pascal)+(0.33 m3×1 pascal)=0.5 pascal m3=0.5 J
Hence, the work done is 0.5J.
