Solution

(1) Amount (A) = Rs 28,500
Principal (P) = Rs 25,000
Time (N) = 2 years
Interest (I) = Amount – Principle
= Rs 28,500 – Rs 25,000
= Rs 3,500

I=P×R×N100or 3500=25000×R×2100or 3500=250×R×2

or 3500 = 500 × R
or 3500500=R (On dividing both sides by 500)
or R = 7%
∴ Rate of interest is 7%

(2) Principal (P) = Rs 7,500
Time (N) = 312=72 years
Rate (R) = 13%
Interest ( I ) = ?
We know,
I=P×R×N100 I=7500×13×72100 I=3750×13×7100 I=375×13×710 I=75×13×72 I=Rs 3412.50
