Practical use of convex lens and concave lens:-
1. Cameras: Objects placed at distances beyond 2 f would form clear images on the screen inside the cameras.
2. Movie Projectors: films placed between F and 2 f of the projector’s Focus would form real images on the screen (make sure the film is inserted-in inverted).
3. Magnifying Glass: objects placed within (f )are seen magnified.
4. Telescopes: the objectives of refracting telescopes are convex lenses. Most use a convex lens for the ocular (eyepiece) as well.
5. Microscopes: the objectives of microscopes are convex lenses. So are the oculars.
6. Dark Room Enlargers (nearly extinct now): similar to projectors.
7. Corrective Eyeglasses for Hyperopia (farsightedness) are convex lenses.
8. Binoculars, Opera Glasses and “Field Glasses” all use convex lenses.
9. Rifle Scopes: see telescopes.
10.Video Cameras, Fiber Optics Cameras for Internal Examinations, Spy Glasses, Web-Cams, use convex lenses.
