Dear Student ,

1) The autonomic nervous system can be classified into two divisions -
a) Sympathetic
b) Parasympathetic
These two have opposing effects on the organs they act on.

While the sympathetic division increases the blood pressure and speeds up the rate of heart. It also shuts down the gut. On the other hand Parasympathetic division decreases the blood pressure and slows down the heart rate. It opens up and activates the gut for digestion.

2) Lobes of forebrain -
1) Parietal lobe -
function -
It receives the sensory information from all the body parts
It possesses a somatosensory cortex which plays role in the process of touch sensation.
Identification of the position, location and movement of the body is performed by parietal lobe.

2) Temporal lobe -
Function -
It is responsible for the memory, vision, sensory input, emotions and language understanding.
