Question

(1) Using the symbol of congruence, write the names of the congruent line segments.
l (HD) = 3.9 cm, l (ST) = 5.4 cm, l (FA) = 8.2 cm, l (XR) = 8.2 cm, l (FC) = 3.9 cm and l (DI) = 5.4 cm

Solution

Two line segments are congruent if they are of equal length.
l (HD) = l (FC) = 3.9 cm
So, seg HD ≅ seg FC
∴ Line segment HD and line segment FC are congruent.

l (ST) = l (DI) = 5.4cm
So, seg ST ≅ seg DI
∴ Line segment ST and line segment DI are congruent.

l (FA) = l (XR) = 8.2 cm
So, seg FA ≅ seg XR
∴ Line segment FA and line segment XR are congruent.
