Cathode' is a Negatively charged Electrode that attracts the Positive (+) ions (Cations) in a Chemical reaction . The 'Anode' is the Positively charged Electrode that attracts the Negative (-) ions (Anions) in a Chemical reaction.

in simple words you can say cathode is connected to -ve terminal and anode to +ve terminal
