Solution

Molecular bonds or covalent bonds are exactly the same.

A solution of carbon dioxide is slightly acidic but carbon dioxide by itself is not an acid. The reason why it is slightly acidic in solutions is because it can (no matter how weak) establish an equilibrium with water to give hydrogen ions:
CO2(g)+H2O(l)⇌H+(aq)+HCO−3(aq)CO2(g)+H2O(l)⇌H+(aq)+HCO3−(aq)
