Phenolphthalein give colourless in acid solution and pink in basic solution . In neutral solution colour is colourless

2)
When using water to put out a fire the water will become superheated from contact with combustion materials. The water will often flash to steam instantly it becomes so hot. This superheated water can and often does rain down on firefighters. The fire helmets are designed with protection from hot water around the neck and face in mind. The long brim on the back protects the wearer's neck. The helmets also protect the head from impact from structural components, equipment etc. that can fall from above because of fire weakened support structures.
