1)why do we find negligible vegetation on mountain tops?

At moutain tops the conditions may not be suitable for plant growth.Moist(water) may be less or the temperature may be too cold for the plant growth to occur. Soil fertility may also be less as the top soil is washed away by rains.So these conditions do not allow plant growth int he moutain tops.
