1)Why does the high atmospheric pressure at the sea level not squash us?

Answer 1
The high atmospheric pressure does not squash us. This is because the pressure exerted on our body gets balanced with the pressure maintained by our body parts such as pressure of ears, stomach, heart, etc. Also, our heart pumps blood at the same pressure also known as blood pressure which cancels the atmospheric pressure
thus ,we are not squashed.

As Force applied by the body is same in both the cases.But pressure i.e
Pressure = Force / Area
is more when man is standing because area in contact is more when body is lying.as we know pressure is inversely proportional to area.So,when area is more pressure is less.In case when man is standing area in contact is less so pressure is more.
