The correct option is C 0.125 M
For first dilution
M1V1=M2V2
where M1 and V1 are the molarity and the volume of the initial solution respectively.
M2 and V2 are the molarity and the volume after first dilution.
M1V1V2=M2
So, M2 = 0.5 M
For second dilution,
M2V2=M3V3
where ,M3 and V3 are the molarity and the volume after second dilution.
M2V2V3=M3
So, M3 = 0.25 M
For third dilution,
M3V3=MfVf
where, Mf and Vf are the molarity and the volume of the final solution.
M3V3Vf=Mf
So, Mf = 0.125 M
On each dilution, the concentration is halved, and the total volume is doubled.
