Question

(10) Why is a female voice shriller, in general, from a male voice?

Open in App
Solution

It is due to difference in pitch of the two sounds. Pitch depends upon frequency. The higher the frequency, the greater the pitch. Afemale voice has higher frequency compared to a male voice and so has higher pitch. The lower pitch makes the male voice flat and the higher pitch makes the female voice shrill.
