Step 1: Given Data-

Heat energy supplied 1000cal

Mass of ice 100g

Step 2: Calculate the heat energy required to melt ice-

We know that Latent heat of fusion of Ice is 80cal/g

Hence even to melt the ice (convert the state to water at 0°C), The heat required will be:

Q=mLfQ=100×80Q=8000cal

Therefore, 8000cal of heat energy is required to melt the ice. Even after that, the temperature of the water will be 0°C

Hence, when 1000cal of heat energy is supplied to 100g of ice at 0°C, there will be no change in the temperature.
