Solution
Fats and carbohydrates both are composed of Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen but the proportion of Oxygen atoms to the atoms of Carbon and Hydrogen is lower than in carbohydrates.
The difference is that fats are complex molecules, hence they require time for breakdown and meanwhile are stored in the body and thus cause obesity, whereas carbohydrates are simple molecules that easily break down into carbon dioxide and water to give instant energy.
Therefore, we prefer carbohydrates rather than fat as they provide instant energy which is needed for day-to-day activities.
