Solution
Lead chloride (PbCl2) is insoluble in cold water and soluble in hot water.
It gives Pb2+ and Cl- ions in hot water.
Lead chloride has high lattice enthalpy, due to which the electrostatic bonds cannot break in cold water. So, it will not dissolve in cold water.
But at high temperature or in hot water, hydration enthalpy will overcome the lattice energy and bonds will break in the water. So, it will dissolve in hot water.
