The expression for the depression in the freezing point and the molar mass of the solute is as shown below.
ΔTf=1000×Kf×W2M2×W1
Substitute values in the above expression.
0.010=1000×0.1×2.56M2×100
Thus the molecular weight of sulphur in CS2 is M2=0.256 kg/mol=256g/mol
The atomic weight of the sulphur atom is 32 g/mol.
Thus atomicity of sulphur in CS2 is 25632=8.
