Solution

The correct option is B

An apple for Rs.3 & a banana for Rs.3

System of equations which represents the situation are

2a + 3b = 15 .....(i)

2a + 2b = 12 ......(ii)

Since the co-efficient of a is same i.e 2 & 2a in both the equations has the same sign, we will eliminate variable a by Subtracting the eqs.(ii) from (i)
(2a + 3b) - (2a+2b) = 15 - 12

putting this value of b in eqn. (i)
