The correct option is D One boy alone can do a piece of work in 120 days
and one man alone can do a piece of work in 20 days
Let 1 boy alone can do a piece of work in x days and 1 man alone can do a piece of work in y days.
So, 1 day work of 1 boy =1x
and 1 day work of 1 man =1y
ATP
3x+2y=18 .........(i)
and 2x+3y=16 .......(ii)
Multiplying equation (i) by 2 and equation (ii) by 3
6x+4y=14
6x+9y=12
------------------------------------------
5y=14
y=20
substitute y=20 in equation (i)
3x+320=18
3x=18110
3x=5440
3x=140
x=120
So, one boy alone can do a piece of work in 120 days
and one man alone can do a piece of work in 20 days.
