Question

2 moles of H2SO4 present in 1 kg of solution then calculate normality of H2SO4 solution if density of solution is 1.25 gm/ml.

Open in App
Solution

Given, Density of solution=1.25gm/mol
We know,
Molarity=WtG M Wt×1000V in ml
=WtV in ml×1000G M Wt
Molarity=d×1000G M Wt
[d=WeightVolume]
Molarity=1.25×100098
[H2SO4=98g/mol]
Molarity of solution=12.755M
Now, we know Normality=Molarity×nfactor
Here, H2SO4 is an acid & for an acid n factor is basicity
Basicity of H2SO4=2
Normality of solution=12.755×2=25.51N
