  2. The charge on Sulphate ion is-2.
  3. One Magnesium (Mg) atom can lose only two electrons.
  4. One Sulphate (SO42-) ion needs +2a charge to cancel its charge.
  5. So, one Magnesium atom will react with one Sulphate ion to give Magnesium sulphate.
  6. The chemical formula of Magnesium sulphate isMgSO4.
