Let the Male population in 1975 $=$ x.
$\therefore$ Female population in 1975 $=2000-x$
But as per question,
$x\times \frac{110}{100}+(2000-x)\frac{94}{100}=2000$
$\therefore x(110-94)+2000\times 94=2000\times 100$
or, $16x=2000(100-94)$
$\therefore x=750$
