The salts containing chloride ions (Cl-) in their composition are called chloride salts.
Some examples of chloride salts are sodium chloride (NaCl), and ammonium chloride (NH4Cl). Sodium chloride has sodium and chlorine in the ratio of 1:1 and is commonly known as common salt.
