Total number of gold coins = 2720.
Total number of pirates =21.

To get number of coins collected by 1 pirate, divide 2720 by 21.

Do the division process by using box method.

So, here,
Divisor = 32
Dividend = 2720

Write this 2720 in expanded form
2720 = 2000 + 700 + 20 + 0

Now, solving the division process using box method,


∴ Final quotient will be:
62 + 12 + 1 + 0 = 85

So, each pirate will get 85 gold coins.
