221(a). An apparatus is set up, as shown in the figure the bulb would glow when an aqueous solution of glucose is used as the electrolyte.

  • Glucose is a weak electrolyte which does not dissociate into its constituent ions in an aqueous solution.
  • When aqueous solution of glucose is used as an electrolyte, then the bulb will not glow because there are no free ions present in the solution which are responsible for the conduction of electricity.
  • Hence, the bulb will not glow.
