Chlorine (Cl) is a greenish-yellow non-metal and exists as a gas at room temperature.
It has a pungent smell and is very poisonous in nature.
The two uses of chlorine are the following
Chlorine is used in the sterilization of drinking water as it kills all kinds of germs.
It is used in the manufacturing of insecticides and pesticides like DDT (Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) and BHC (Benzene hexachloride).
