here why 2 is on the front for Ag and 2 is down for cl2 ?

Ag is silver and it is a metal
It exists as Ag atom itself.
Cl is chlorine and it is a gas.
It always exists as 2 chlorine atoms connected together. In other words it exists as cl2 molecule

2 infront of Ag suggests that there are 2 Ag atoms
cl2 means that there is one chlorine molecule which consists of 2 atoms
