Given equation 2N2O5=4NO2+O2
Rate of disappearance of N2O5×12=14× rate of formation of NO2
Disappearance of N2O5=2×14×2.8×103=1.4×103
However, we still write the rate of disappearance as a negative number.
Also, if you think about it a negative rate of disappearance is essentially a positive rate of appearance.
