$(2 x - 1) (x - 3) = (x + 5) (x - 1)$

$\Rightarrow 2 x^{2} - 6 x - x + 3 = x^{2} - x + 5 x - 5$

$\Rightarrow x^{2} - 11 x + 8 = 0$

$\Rightarrow x = \frac{- (11) \pm \sqrt{(- 11)^{2} - 4 (1) (8)}}{2 (1)}$

$x = \frac{11 \pm \sqrt{81}}{2}$
