Question

3.49g of ammonia at STP occupies volume of 4.48 dm3 calculate molar mass of ammonia.

Open in App
Solution

We can calculate the relative molar mass of the molecule.
Here volume is 4.48dm3=4.48L
Now according to gas law, we know that the volume of one mole of gas =22.4L
4.48L of the ammonia gas takes 3.49gram
So 22.4L of the gas take =3.49×22.44.48=17.45gram
So relative molar mass of the ammonia gas is 17.45gram
