Question

3.49g of ammonia at STP occupies volume of 4.48 dm3 calculate molar mass of ammonia

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
We can calculate relative molar mass of the molecule.
Here volume is 4.48dm3 = 4.48 L
Now according to gas law we know that the volume of one mole of gas = 22.4 L
4.48 L of the ammonia gas takes 3.49 gram
So 22.4 L of the gas take = (3.49*22.4)/4.48 = 17.45 gram
So relative molar mass of the ammonia gas is 17.45 gram
