Solution

Dear Student,

(a) Global warming means the average temperature of the earth is increasing at an alarming rate. Global warming is leading to melting of ice and snow caps at polar regions. This is the cause of increasing sea water levels by few centimetres each year, which is a threat to coastal regions. The island and near- shore regions of the mainland are at risk of submerging.

ā€‹(b) The main causes of global warming are few green house gases. These gases traps the heat radiated in the atmosphere and which collectively leads to the green house effect. The forest has the capacity to absorbs these gases such as CO2, NOx etc. The cutting of trees (deforestation) is leading cause of global warming by decreasing absorbing capacity of GHGs .

(c) Snow blindness in humans is a medical condition of inflammation of cornea, by the exposure of harmful UV rays, radiated by sun.
