Given,

We know that lesser length of the cloth , lesser will be the cost.

$\text{So, Length of the cloth}\left(x\right)\propto \text{Cost}\left(y\right)$
$\therefore \frac{x_1}{y_1}=\frac{x_2}{y_2}$

Given,
$x_1=30meters$
$y_1=₹960$
$y_2=₹640$
$\text{and}{x}_2=\text{length of cloth}$
$\Rightarrow x_2=\frac{x_1\times y_2}{y_1}$
$\Rightarrow x_2=\frac{30\times 640}{960}=20$
