Solution

Here, the rule which is applicable on the series: 35 80 99 143 is rule A: Divide the number by 2 and add the square of the quotient to the number as:
i) Start with the number 10.
10÷2=5. So, quotient is 5.
Now, 52+10=35
ii) Take the next number 16.
16÷2=8. So, quotient is 8.
Now, 82+16=80
iii) Take the next number 18.
18÷2=9. So, quotient is 9.
Now, 92+18=99
iv) Take the next number 22.
22÷2=11. So, quotient is 11.
Now, 112+22=143
Hence, rule (A) is the correct answer.
