Solution

Metal X is lead.

Lead carbonate is a white solid amorphous powder which is obtained when lead carbonate is heated and carbon dioxide gas is also evolved.

Reaction -

PbCO3(s)ΔPbO(s)+CO2(g)

Hence the reaction of heating of lead carbonate leads to formation of lead oxide which is yellow solid mass and carbon dioxide is also evolved.

Conclusion - Hence the Metal X is Lead.
