For 36A2 to be divisible by 3, sum of 36A2 should be divisible by 3

$\Rightarrow$ 3 + 6 + A + 2 should be a multiple of 3

$\Rightarrow$ 11 + A should be a multiple of 3

The number closest and more than 11 which is a multiple of 3 is 12. Hence 11 + A = 12. A = 1

The other options make the sum = 13, 14 and 17, none of which are multiples of 3.

Hence A = 1 and the number is 3612.
