4. How does the solubility of a substance depend upon the temperature of the water? Explain.

Solution
At a certain temperature, the maximum amount of solute that can dissolve in a known quantity of solvent is called its solubility.
The solubility of a substance in water increases as the temperature rises.
When the temperature is increased the kinetic energy gained by the molecules of solvents is used up to break the intermolecular interactions and move into the spaces between water molecules.
Example- In hot water, more sugar will dissolve than in cold water.
