There are a number of ways to reduce friction:-
1) Firstly, make the surfaces smoother, as rough surfaces produce more friction and smooth surfaces reduce friction.
2) Lubrication can also be done to make surface smoother.
3) Number of frequency of contacts between the surfaces should be reduced.
4) Make the objects more contoured.
