Adrenal gland:

1. The two small, brownish, flattened and triangular cup-like structures, located one on the top of each kidney is known as adrenal gland.

Function:

1. Adrenal gland produces a hormone adrenaline which prepares the body to face an emergency situation, violent stress etc. It is also known as fight and flight hormone.
2. Adrenaline increases the rate of heart beat and also increases blood pressure during stress.
