Open in App
Solution

Assume total number of members in a town=x

number of men=0.4x
number of women=0.35x
So,
number of children=total-(number of men+number of women)
=x-(0.4x+0.35x)
=0.25x

As,
number of children=20000
So,
0.25x=20000
x=80,000

Number of men=0.4(80,000)
=32,000

So, 32,000 mens are present in town
