(i) To find the strength of school

Let the total strength be $x$

Then, $57\%$ of $x$ is $1482$ So,

$$\begin{gathered} \frac{57}{100}\times x=1482 \\ \Rightarrow x=\frac{1482\times 100}{57} \\ \Rightarrow x=26\times 100 \\ \Rightarrow x=2600 \end{gathered}$$

Hence, the total strength is equal to $2600$

(ii) To find the number of girls

We have, number of boys = $1482$

Total strength of school = $2600$

So, the number of girls =Total strength - Number of boys = $2600-1482=1118$

Hence, the number of girls are $1118$
