Solution

Here given that 43% of the students are girls and number of boys is 1482

So, the percent of boys = 100%-43%=57%

Now according to the question

Number of Boys = 1482 is equal to 57% of total strength

(i) To find the strength of school

Let the total strength be x

Then, 57% of x is 1482 So,

57100×x=1482x=1482×10057x=26×100x=2600

Hence, the total strength is equal to 2600

(ii) To find the number of girls

We have, number of boys = 1482

Total strength of school = 2600

So, the number of girls =Total strength - Number of boys = 2600-1482=1118

Hence, the number of girls are 1118
